Bartol (President), Richard L. Austin (Treasurer), G. Walter Holloway (Secretary); motion resolved to receive and file the report of the accountant on the examination of the books of the Whitaker Cement Co.; motion resolved that the Secretary be authorized to purchase books and stationary, and to acquire a corporate seal and stock certificates; motion resolved defining payment schedule for stockholders to pay for shares; confirmation of the appointment of Charles Watson and Cyrus Borgman as members of an executive committee to advise the President on company business; motion resolved to move the temporary office of the company to 139 S. Front St., Philadelphia, Pa. The Alpha Portland Cement Co. was organized in 1895 when it acquired the Whitaker Cement Co. Originally based in Philadelphia, the company later moved its headquarters to Easton, Pa. Based in the area of the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania known as the ""Cement Belt,"" Alpha Portland Cement Co. grew to become one of the largest cement companies in the United States.
