When one considers that this book contains over 32,000 items of distinct information, all compiled and brought into shape for ready reference, it will perhaps be surprising how few errors are manifest. The miscellaneous data classed as Appendix has been arranged with some degree of system instead of being loosely scattered. The Street Guide -- pages 65-142 -- is an entirely new feature here and its utility will be evident to every business man. The total number of houses given is 5930, divided as follows: Bethlehem, 1889; South Bethlehem and Fountain Hill, 2983; West Bethlehem 864, and Bethlehem Heights, 194. The General Directory contains 13,143 names, and to these are added the names of 4,839 wives, making a grand total of 17,982 names. These 13,143 names are divided as follows: Bethlehem, 3975; South Bethlehem and Fountain Hill, 6292; West Bethlehem, 1532; Bethlehem Heights, 279; Northampton Heights, 123, and non-residents employed in the Bethlehems, 651.
