About this Digital Document
This thesis evaluates the effect of forced air, free flow and spray mist application of cutting fluids upon the surface finish, flank land wear, and cutting forces. From the data collected a number of tests, such as analysis of variance, t-tests, and F-tests, were run to see if the various flow conditions had any significant effect on the above variables. These tests showed that in both the roughing and finishing cuts the effect of flow conditions on tool wear was significant.
