About this Paged Content
The letter has been folded and a strip of tape has been applied vertically on the recto.
Petrie thanks the recipient for his letter and explains that he has caught a cold and came into town to see Doctor Hobson [?]; he informs the recipient that he will have to avoid speaking outdoors so as not to cause undue strain. Petrie also mentions that Machey will send in two volumes and circulars which he hopes to collect in addition to some slides at his hotel. An Egyptologist and an excavator notable for his introduction and application of a consistent methodology in archeology, Petrie also translated Egyptian tales from papyri, and published on Egyptian religious traditions, arts and crafts, and migrations.
