Flamsteed apologizes for not answering Evelyn's letter sooner, citing the demands of his work, answering letters confirming "the Comet" and helping to get Sir Jonas Moore's book published. Flamsteed, however, does "promise you and additionall [sic] account of what observations I shall gain of it during its continuance which may be I guess 110 and 20 days" more. Flamsteed founded the Greenwich Observatory where he served as the first astronomer royal and conducted stellar observations. An ordained clergyman, fellow of the Royal Society, and sometime teacher to earn extra income, Flamsteed faced pressure from the scientific community and especially colleagues like Isaac Newton and Edmond Halley to publish his data; in 1704 Prince George of Denmark published Flamsteed's unfinished work, producing an angry reaction from the author. Flamsteed later published the results himself as _Historia coelestis Britannica_, or, _British catalogue of the heavens_ (1725).
