Abstract

Inherent in any mathematical optimization technique is the attendant sensitivity analysis which renders the optimal solution practical and meaningful. Such an analysis is especially important when the parameters of the system to be optimized are known imperfectly or cannot be estimated accurately. This thesis proposed a method to characterize the sensitivity of the solution of an optimal control problem to variations in the parameters of the system.
