Abstract
The essential problem that has always confronted the student of Robert Southwell, S.J. has been the lack of an authoritative collection of his poems. The dating of the poems and the order in which they appear are based on scholarly speculation, for no manuscript exists which is known to have been compiled or presented by the poet himself.
