This thesis reports the results of an investigation of cutting tool temperatures generated during a turning operation. The tool temperatures were sensed by two remote thermocouples placed beneath the cutting tool. The purpose of the experiment was to develop a predictive equation for tool wear using the remote temperatures as an independent variable.
