Abstract

In inventory systems that assume steady state operations, problems arise when real changes in the demand process occur. In the thesis, three adaptive exponential smoothing models, which automatically monitor demand forecasts to ensure that forecasts remain within some control limits, are applied to an inventory system and compared.
