Abstract

The mechanical properties and surface characteristics of electrodeposited gold and gold-cadmium alloys were related to the strength of gold to gold bonds produced by compliant bonding techniques. The mechanical properties were determined by tensile testing and Knoop hardness measurements and the surface characteristics were determined by scanning electron microscopy.
