Abstract

When an aluminum surface is exposed to an intense source of ultraviolet light, the 'natural' oxide growth on that surface is accelerated. This paper shows that the reflectance loss due to the irradiation of an aluminum reflector is not consistant with a mathematical model based solely on an increase in oxide film thickness.
