Abstract

Bolted shingle joints are currently designed by methods developed for riveted joints in single shear which do not make effective use of the high shear strength of the fasteners. In this study, the results of a series of analytical studies and a complimentary test program examining the strength and behavior of bolted shingle joints are presented.
