Abstract

Silicon PIN diodes with wide i - layers have been studied with respect to their transient response to sine waves. Simple carrier transport theory would predict that such a device, upon application of a sine wave signal of a particular frequency in the VHF region, would not conduct appreciable current until the voltage of the signal exceeded a given value.
