Abstract

In this thesis are presented the preliminary results of a long-term study on relaxation loss of prestressing strands. This study is part of a research program aimed at the establishment of a reasonable method for the prediction of prestress losses in pre-tensioned concrete structural members. Forty specimens of the 7-wire stress-relieved strands of the special grade (270 K) were tested, under constant length conditions, for a duration up to 444 days.
