Abstract

Au-Fe-Co alloys with a constant Co-Fe ration of 7, and Au contents ranging from 0.5% to 18% were cast, solution annealed, and cold-rolled into thin strips. Light and electron metallographic techniques and electron microprobe analysis established that alloys cold-worked 75 and 90% exhibited simultaneous recrystallization and Au precipitation on heating. Direct current magnetic measurements showed that coercive force increased with Au additions up to 14% and decreased thereafter.
