This study evaluated six input configurations which can be used for the manual entry of numeric data into source data collection systems. The input configurations evaluated were: Touch-Tone keyboard with and without voice answerback, teletype keyboard, slidebars, rotary knobs, and thumbwheels. Two groups with 8 subjects in each entered numeric messages into the input configurations.
