Master of Science
This thesis consisted of a study of the transient response of a p-i-n diode with wide i layer. Attention was directed to investigating the time required for transition from high impedance to low impedance after application of a voltage stop. This transient process was assumed to be related to the time required for formation of a neutral hole-electron plasma out of the clouds of holes and electrons injected from the P and N regions, respectively.
