Abstract

An evaluation of the Rubidium-Cesium-Antimony photocathode was undertaken. A total of eight experimental cathodes were produced for this work. Their construction and processing is described. Conclusions are drawn that this photocathode material is very nearly the same as that originally reported by Nanev and Kniev. A brief discussion of the theory of semiconductors and how it applies to photoemission is also presented. Techniques and equipment used are outlined.
