Abstract

An improved method is presented to determine the frequency temperature coefficient of reflex klystrons. This coefficient is defined as the incremental change in klystron frequency as a result of a change in temperature. The experimental determination of the correlation between frequency-temperature coefficient and quality factor and presentation of this informaiton in graphical and equation form, permits the rapid calculaiton of the frequency-temperature coefficient from the more readily determinable quality factor.
