Abstract

This thesis is a report of the work of Duffin and Duris, which have appeared only in research publications. It contains both a detailed explanation of their work nad the proofs of many results merely stated by them. This thesis is concerned with complex-valued functions defined at the points of the complex plane whose coordinates are integers. These points form a lattice which breaks up the plane into unit squares.
