Abstract
Recent efforts towards a better understanding of the behavior of thin metallic films have been stimulated by possible applications of their specific properties. In the case of many heavy metals, it is also of interest to produce thin films of highly disordered material, to study the properties of metal in this form, and then to follow the changes in the properties which occur when the films are warmed to higher temperatures.
