Abstract

Thermal resistance of surfaces in contact is a topic which has been widely neglected by even our foremost texts of heat transfer. The need for practical thermal resistance values for copper surfaces in stationary contact and the logical application of this data in relation to problems encountered in transistor and magnetron design prompted the author to perform this investigation.
