About this Image
The Sauquoit Silk Manufacturing Company, headquartered in New York, operated mills in Scranton and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The Bethlehem mill operated from 1887 until the Cutter Silk Mill Company ceased operations in 1984. Located at 250 W. River Street, the brick-clad timber supported Sauquoit Mill was typical of the many small silk processing facilities in Bethlehem and the Lehigh Valley.
