[Letter] 1957 November 5, Washington, D.C. [to] James Cline, Washington D.C. / John [F.] Kennedy.
The letter is typed on official United States Senate letterhead with a list of the Committees Kennedy belonged to including Labor and Public Welfare, and Foreign Relations. See also Kennedy's official White House biography (http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/presidents/jk35.html) and a guide to research collections of his papers (http://bioguide.congress.gov/scripts/biodisplay.pl?index=K000107).
Kennedy thanks Cline for sending him the list associated with the Easton dinner, declaring "I enjoyed the evening there immensely and appreciated being a part of the activities." Kennedy served as a PT boat commander in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific; he returned home to serve in Congress (1947-1953), won the Pulitzer Prize in history for his _Profiles in Courage_ , was elected Senator and served in that office (1953-1960) until he resigned to assume the Presidency of the United States.
